This 37-year old patient from Santee, California (East San Diego County) was interested in multiple procedures to improve her overall look after gastric bypass surgery in 2003 and 2 pregnancies. During the recovery period, the patient is instructed to wear an abdominal binder and surgical bra with a bandeau for atleast one month to help minimize swelling. These garments will help protect and support these areas and aid in the healing process. The drains that you see are removed about 2-weeks after surgery to prevent fluid accumulation in the tissues.

The first stage of the surgery, the patient underwent bilateral breast reduction surgery as well as bilateral brachioplasty (arm lifting) and an upper body lift. Four months after recovering, she had her second stage of the surgery which involved bilateral breast augmentation as well as a z-plasty of the left axilla. Dr. Pousti used 800cc saline-filled breast implants to achieve the patient’s desired look.

This is during the first stage of surgery when the patient just had the breast reduction and no implants were placed. During the second stage of surgery, breast implants will be used to enhance the breast size and creat fullness.
